artist Statement

My paintings emerge through a dialogue between intention and surrender. I begin each work with an acrylic pour on wooden panel, guiding pigment through movement and gravity, then introducing fire to open cells in the paint. These luminous, organic backgrounds become internal landscapes — echoing what I encounter in both meditation and the natural world. From this ground, I build forward in oil, layering gradient fields and details that give form to the chaos beneath. The pour actively informs the composition, guiding me toward imagery drawn from deep meditation practice and the felt energy of landscapes encountered in stillness. Across my collections, I explore the evolution of consciousness, the hidden intelligence of mycelium networks, and the teachings of Amazonian master plants — subjects that converge in what I think of as landscapes of the mind, where the boundaries between self, nature, and awareness dissolve. I think of my role less as author and more as receiver — a clear channel through which creative energy flows from Source onto the panel. My work holds the moment where surrender meets intention, and something beyond either one takes form.
